CHRIST MATRIC HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL

         The School Founder Lion Dr.S.SOUNDRAPANDIAN D.Hon., was born and brought up at puthirupuvilai village, Nanguneri Tk, Tirunelveli District. His Father Mr. Sathiyavakku Nadar was a teacher, who had run a Primary School in his native place. The Correspondent was very much impressed and inspired by his father's work in his early childhood. He had a vision to institute a school to inculcate the rural children because every day he had to walk nearly 10Km to earn his studies in a school

         He completed his secondary Education and Secondary grade teacher training in Caldwel Memorial High School, Idaiyankudi.  At the time of his schooling, he had participated in Sports and Games and go so many prizes and certificates. Also he participated in School drama and interested in music. 

      He got three months training from the 'LOK SAHAYAK SENAH' in Ambasamuthiram and selected as a best candidate and received the certificate of merit from Gen. Thimmaiyah.  Also he came first in shooting and physical exercise.

       In 1961, He participated in the Republic Day Function in New Delhi, in which  " The Queen Elizabeth " was the Cheif Guest. The participants from all over the Country were honoured by the Honourable Prime Minister of India Thiru. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Honourable President of India Thiru. Rajendraprasad by giving them a fine feast at their home.

        In 1961, he was appointed as a teacher in a Primary School in Naickanoor Village, Uthangarai Tk, Krishnagiri District. There he worked as a Headmaster for five years.

        He had a great passion for physical exercise activities because he felt that " All work without play makes Tom a dull boy ". The physical exercise makes a man perfect in both body and mind. The physical exercise is a mean to sharpen the discipline of a man. In viewing this notion, he resigned his job and joined one year training at Y.M.C.A. College of Physical Education, Chennai. He completed his Higher Grade Physical Education Training successfully.

         In 1967, he was appointed as a Higher Grade Physical Education Teacher in Singarapettai Govt.High School. Later he worked as a Physical Education Teacher in Govt.Schools at different places like Samalpatti, Gurubarahalli, Uparapatti, Kunnathur and Mittapalli in Krishnagiri Dt. He retired from Government Service in 1998. He worked hard and devoted his full attention in making the students both Physically and mentally strong.

      In 1978, he earnestly wanted to bring his vision of establising a school to enlighten the Knowledge of the rural children into reality. For that, he devoted his entire attention to establish a School at Singarapettai where the illiteracy was prevailing. That early childhood vision paved the way for the inception of "Christ Nursery and Primary School". 

It was a Tamil Medium School with three students .

In 1985, it became a Matriculation School and renamed as 

"Christ Matriculation School". It was the First Matriculation School started at Uthangarai Taluk. In 1998, it was recognized by the Government of Tamil Nadu.

          In 1991 he had a vision to start one more Matriculation School at Uthangarai in 1991. He founded 

" Christ Matric Hr Sec School " at Uthangarai, which is prominantly know for its discipline and education to all without any discrimination. He is encouraging and admitting different IQ levels students  and help them to get improved in their IQ level through valuable education and moral thoughts.In 1997, it was recognised by the Government of Tmil Nadu and in the year it was upgraded as a Higher Secondary School.

          He is successfully leading the school to acheive many pinacles, which is prominantly accredited by many Social Service Organisations. He got many individual awards for his industrious work for the upliftment of rural children. He got both national and international awards which authentically show his immense work for the rural children. He was awarded as "Kalvi Thanthai", " Kalvi Sudar", "Kalvi Thilagam " and "Kalvi Puravalar". 

     The International Awards won by him are " Star of Asia " and " International Grand Humanity Award ".
